About Me

Welcome to Get Glammed Up! Here you will find all things beauty, curly haircare, and lifestyle.

A little about me...
My name is Gena, and I'm a mid-twenty year old living in Virginia. I work full-time in digital marketing, while running my blog and YouTube channel. In my free time you can find me decorating my first home my fiance Nathan and I built, spoiling our beagle Holly, or visiting our favorite wineries and breweries.

I started my blog way back in 2009 after feeling the urge to share my love beauty too long. I've loved playing with makeup, nails, skincare, and experimenting with my naturally curly hair for as long as I can remember, and my passion has only grown since. I began making YouTube videos in January of 2011, and have since formed a tight-knit community with my subscribers.

I keep my everyday makeup routine pretty simple when I have to get out the door for work! I’m sharing my Everyday, Natural Makeup Routine in my new video that just went live. The products I used are my “tried and true” and staples that I swear by, one of which is my @makeupgeekcosmetics Sunkissed Fair Skin Bronzer ☀️ I love what @marlenastell is doing with the #4TruthInMakeup movement, encouraging honesty and transparency with influencers and brands. I’ve always stood behind the products I share, and only feature ones I truly love 💗 I received the MUG bronzer a year ago, and have used it and loved it ever since (hence the tiny smidge that’s left in the pan, as you can see in the video 😂). Direct link in my bio! Tell me, what products are your holy grails? 👇🏼 . . .

My content is focused on educating the everyday women, with simple, wearable makeup tutorials, easy to follow how-tos, and tips to help you look and feel great.

My curly hair journey has evolved tremendously since a very young age, from resisting my natural texture by straightening, to now embracing my curls. I've brought you all along this ride of trial and error, and now share how I care for my hair using the Curly Girl Method.

Enjoy browsing around, and please feel free to email me (glammeup8@gmail.com) if you have any beauty questions, suggestions, requests, or business inquiries!

My focus is to help everyone achieve the look they deserve, and at an affordable price!
