VIDEO: Makeup for Mature Skin ft. My Mom!

Saturday, December 13, 2014

After many emails and requests from some of my older viewers, I am excited to bring you all a makeup tutorial with my mom! Like my mom, makeup for women over 50 can be difficult. With the right products and tips, you can cover wrinkles, dark spots, and enhance your natural features. I also show how to cover redness such as rosacea, sun damage, and broken capillaries.
Even if you are younger, you can still benefit from these tips if you have dry skin. For my younger viewers, feel free to do this look on your mom or grandmother- it would make the best Christmas present! Please share this with the older women in your life :)

Here's a simplified step by step (as requested by mom, haha) instruction on how to do makeup for mature skin.
Check out the video to see the demonstration of course!

Step 1:
Cleanse your skin and moisturize using anti-aging products.
Step 2:
Apply a skin smoothing face primer
Step 3:
Using a Beauty Blender sponge or flat top foundation brush apply a full coverage foundation or BB cream
Step 4:
Apply concealer under the eyes and on any dark spots or redness on the face
Set the concealer and foundation using a powder and a kabuki brush
Contour the face using a matte bronzer or a darker shade of face powder
Step 7:
Apply a cream blush using a small stipple brush
Step 8:
Lightly fill in the brows using an eyebrow pencil that matches your hair
Step 9:
Apply an eyeshadow primer to prevent eyeshadow creasing and fading
Step 10:
Apply a matte skin tone shadow all over the lids and on the brow bone using a flat shader brush. Apply a matte light brown to the crease using a synthetic blending brush. Apply a shimmery beige shadow to just the inner corners to brighten the eyes.
Step 11:
Line the eyes with a light brown eyeliner
Step 12:
Curl the eyelashes and apply mascara
Step 13:
Line the lips and apply lipstick, lip balm, or gloss
